Creativity is present across the curriculum, but is intrinsic to the artistry, design and personal expression practised in the creative arts subjects: music, drama and creative studies (art & design and computing).
As part of their "curiosity" unit, year 8 have been exploring pattern designs that can be produced with programming commands.
After learning algorithms to draw regular shapes, they experimented with repeat loops to develop more elaborate designs.
Most of the students used Scratch for block-based programming, whilst a couple began to further their skills with the high-level programming language, Python.
