Schedule Flexibility and Academic Services

Flexible Scheduling Provides More Opportunities

Flexible scheduling opens a new world of opportunity for students. Courses are scheduled in a variety of formats including semester, block, and year-long. Students can broaden their high school electives to include career selections at the Academy for Technology and Academics, Academy for Arts, Science, & Technology, and Horry Georgetown Technical College, as well as selections in fine arts, foreign language, and other areas of interest.

Two courses of study are being offered to students at Aynor High School. The Four-Year College Prep Course of Study and the Two-Year College Prep Course of Study. Aynor High School has always been committed to providing the best education possible for our students. One objective of our strategic plan states that “Each student be prepared to meet his or her next career endeavor.” With the advantages offered through flexible scheduling, we hope to realize this goal. We have found that time is the variable we need to adjust to ensure the preparation and success of every student.

Special Academic Student Services

Services are available for students who are struggling to achieve their maximum academic potential. A Student Assistance Team designs useful interventions for referred students to help maximize their achievement in the present environment. If the goals are not accomplished, a multi-factored evaluation may be completed to determine the need for special education or Section 504 services. These options could include either teach instructed tutorial services or a self-contained environment according to the needs of the student. Inquiries regarding these programs should be directed to Student Services at 843-488-6787.
