1st Grade Warmup!
Winter Concert Rehearsal Video 1: Christmas, Don't Be Late
Winter Concert Rehearsal Video 2: Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer
SPECIAL NOTE:
If practicing this song in the music room without Mr. Hickey, please distribute the 9 different laminated signs from the song (signs located under the student desk by the board). Signs are numbered in back 1-9 with "movement words" written on the back. The kids are supposed to hold the signs with both hands and raise them ONLY when the movement to that word is sung.
For example: Sign 1 = Rudolph/Reindeer
This sign is raised and lowered whenever kids make the antlers on their heads. "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer (reindeer - sign goes up)"
Winter Concert Rehearsal Video 3: Jingle Bells
SPECIAL NOTE:
If practicing this song in the music room without Mr. Hickey, please distribute the jingle bells to all students. Each student gets 1.
The jingle bells are in the small brown box in the student desk cubby with extras in the plastic bag. They play them during the chorus and follow my example in the video.
BLUEY! Watch, listen, and dance as the orchestra plays the music from this popular show!
TEACHER TIP: This video is about 8 minutes long, playing a few different songs. Consider breaking up the video with other activities. Even if kids feel like this show is too "baby" for them, they can still watch an orchestra play the music to see how it comes together.
This is my actual music teacher friend, Mrs. Wilson at Pfluger Elementary. She's going to have you practice your quarter and 8th notes. Follow her directions!
My friend Mr. Pace tells the story of Mr. Wiggle and Mr. Waggle!
Instrument Quiz! Can you tell what the instrument is by how it sounds?
Can you tell if the sound has a "beat, or no beat"?
Musical Instrument "Jingo!"
