Pre-Kindergarten

All Pre-K students will attend 55 minutes of music within their specials rotation.

During that time, we will:

• Sing & play songs from different cultures

• Compose & improvise songs

• Listen to World Music

• Musical Finger play

• Sing songs related to other content areas

• Perform on developmentally appropriate instruments

• Use props to perform creative movement to music

• Demonstrate pulse/beat to music

• Distinguish between

  • Loud/soft

  • Fast/Slow

  • High/Low

  • Beat vs Rhythm

  • 5 Voices

    • Chanting, whisper, singing, speaking, audiating

• Describe and Identify moods with various music

• Compare and Contrast musical styles of music
