1. Who can join choir?

Any 4th or 5th grader at Negley Elementary can join choir! 50-55 Students will be selected after applications close on Saturday, August 22nd at 9pm. 

2. It costs $30 to be in choir! What all do I need to do to pay that?

It costs $30 per child to be in choir, $50 if you have two children in choir! Their choir shirt (our uniform) costs $12.99 after tax, so the remaining amount due is $17. If you have two children, the remaining amount is $24. These amounts (dues) can be paid on Revtrak in the following month. This covers the cost of their music, concert accompanist, and other choir costs. Financial aid is available. If you are in need of financial assistance, scholarships are available. 3. When and where does choir meet?

Choir meets in the Music Room on Tuesdays from 2:45 pm - 4:15 pm. 

4. Does my student have the chance to eat a snack? 

Of course! Please send a healthy snack for them to eat when we break for sectionals during choir. Please pack a water too.

4. Does my student have to attend all of the choir performances? 

The concerts are going to be so fun, your students won’t want to miss them! 

5. Do students need to attend all choir practices? 

Yes, in order to have fun in choir, we have to make sure and be ready for our upcoming concerts!  The better prepared we are, the more fun our performance experience will be! If a student misses more than 2 practices, they may be asked to take a break for the semester. Please communicate with Mrs. Kibodeaux if your child is going to be absent. 

6. What type of music will we perform?

We will perform a mix of folk, classical, pop and rock music! 

7. How many performances will we have every semester?

We will have 3-4 performances per semester. Events include:

• Veterans Day Ceremony

• Caroling in Plum Creek

• Kyle Tree Lighting Ceremony

• Spring Concert 

• Concerts with Cullen Elementary, BMS, and HHS 

8. Where can I sign up?

I'm so glad you asked! Sign ups are currently closed but Mrs. Kibodeaux can be emailed to add your child to the waitlist!
