How Might We Question:
How might we design a low-cost filter or purification system to help communities get clean, safe drinking water?
Problem:
Water is essential for all living things, but millions of people around the world—and even in some communities close to home—do not have reliable access to clean, safe drinking water. Water can become polluted with dirt, harmful bacteria, microplastics, or chemicals from factories and runoff. As a Water Resource Engineer, your mission is to investigate how water filtration works and design a portable water purifier or filtration system. Using simple, accessible materials like sand, charcoal, gravel, solar heat, or natural filters, build a prototype that can transform dirty or contaminated water into clear, clean water for everyday use.
