El Brote, Educación Ambiental designs and implements environmental projects and trainings with a focus on human relations and their environment.

1. Workshop:

The educators of El Brote will offer a dynamic workshop that will contribute to introduce our students to an eco-sustainable vision of their immediate environment.

This has been the program developed:

• Personal expectations for a hypothetical better future in 2055.

• Refuting and disscusing negationist myths related to the environment.

• Debate on local actions that produce global effects.

• What we can do?. Contextualization. 

• Sharing local alternatives. Social partnership. Ecomarkets. Local commerce. Urban vegetable gardens. Renaturalized city spaces. Domestic energy self-production in the city. Neighborhood self-organization. Schools and Enviromental Programs.

• Analyzing the case of the touristification in the historical centre of Córdoba.

• Annalysis and identification of the main eco-environmental problems in the city of Cordoba from the students' experience: transportation and mobility, energy, commerce, infrastructures, social issues, genre issues.

• Students' ideas and alternatives to the previous issues. Solutions.

• Final task. Building together a "scenario for the future" trought arts.

2. City race and maping:

The second day of the workshop will held on the ground in our city, Córdoba. Sudents will work on interactive mapping around the historical centre. They will detect and evaluate how the city of the present is and must change for a better future.

Ángela Lara García Architect and PhD in Geography, currently Professor in the Department of Human Geography at the University of Seville. Master in Planning and Management of Territorial and Local Development (US) and in Renewable Energies, Architecture and Sustainable Urban Planning (UNIA).

Her activity has focused on analysing the relationships between the urbanised territory, the population that inhabits it and the socio-environmental context, especially centred on the urban water cycle. Her publications include the book "Agua y espacio habitado. Propuestas para la construcción de ciudades sensibles al agua" (EUS, 2018). She is a member of the Grupo de Investigación Estructuras y Sistemas Territoriales and of the Fundación Nueva Cultura del Agua.

Professor Lara will give a session based on a  presentation that will serve as a frame of reference for our students when assessing how water management in the cities of the future should be from a sustainable point of view.
