During our short two-day visit to Stockholm, we have worked together with our Swedish colleagues to develop and agree on the mobility plan for our students in their school.
In addition, we have met with the Swedish students who will be involved in these mobilities, and we have answered the questions raised by the Swedish families.
The working sessions have been enriched by the wonderful hospitality and the generous welcome of the Vittra Lidingö team.
After the meetings, we visited the city and got to know their school and their way of working.
Two mornings of meetings. A few cups of tea and coffee. Laptops open and a great desire to make the most of the time we got to work together.
We have been sharing ideas to focus on our partnership, mainly those related to the pupil's mobilities.
We have reached agreements about:
Recruitment process for students.
Common activities to be developed.
Dates of mobilities.
Accommodation for students and teachers.
Special needs students´ attention during the mobilities.
Learning agreement and contracts with students and families.
In order to harmonize our actions, we have also shared documentation created by the Erasmus Commission of IES Ángel de Saavedra with the programme coordinator in Vittra Lidingö.
We have met the students who will do the mobility with our school, IES Ángel de Saavedra, and we have worked with them answering their doubts and concerns.
Previously, we have been introduced to each of the classes of this wonderful school, from the youngest to the oldest.
We got to know the school's facilities, sharing two days with its team of professionals. We visited the classrooms and spent time with students and teachers.
We have shared coffees, cups of tea and lunches. Furthermore, we have strolled through their courtyards and greeted every teacher who crossed our path between meetings.
Stockholm is a lively city in which you can feel the past, present and future just strolling from a district to another one.
We enjoyed a tour leading by Carina, through its stunning old neighbourhood, called Gamla Stan, that seems coming from a fairy tale, with its narrow streets and magnificent houses.
From there we were visiting downtown with its financial and commercial districts in which old and new merge.
In between there is the political district of the country where we could take a glance of the memorable places on which teenager Greta Thunberg spread the word about her environmental concerns.
We are looking forward to coming back to Stockholm with the pupils so that, they can also feel its vibrant atmosphere in their bones
