We are starting our journey in bilingualism, our first year as a bilingual school! With many challenges ahead but with a great team, composed by Irene Mateo (Maths), Ana Morales (Geography and English), Pilar Castellano (English) and Alberto Parejo (Physical Education, in which the conversation assistant will participate as support). Taking advantage of the fact that our assistant Marcus will be at the school for 12 hours, he will also be in English classes from 1st to 4th ESO with both Susana Gómez and Pilar.
In 1st ESO Bilingual we begin by planning the basic knowledge of each subject and establishing the three projects that we will carry out each term. The projects will be integrated into an online magazine for each year and will deal with the following topics:
Water in our lives!
What do you know about natural disasters?
Are we what we eat?
1st TERM
Arrival of our conversation assistant: Marcus Barton
From the bilingual project and together with the English department, we held a competition to decorate pumpkins and doors with terrifying motifs
Working on the first bilingual project: Water in our lives!
Learning about how Christmas is celebrated in the UK. Marcus also visited Padre Rejas School to carry out various activities with the 6th grade pupils.
2nd TERM
Attendance at an English theatre in Jaén and a visit to the ‘El Almendral’ neighbourhood to improve oral comprehension
Working on the second bilingual project:
What do you know about natural disasters?
