2025年Sセメスター全学自由研究ゼミナール『文化と国際機関』では、3名の学生たちと共に2030年の後の世界を探求しました。SDGsは2030年にその期限を迎えますが、本ゼミでは、その後に着目し、どのような国際的な目標を設置することが可能か、「文化」をキーワードに学生たちに考えてもらいました。

そもそもSDGsも文化も非常に複雑なテーマであり、一つずつを深く掘り下げるだけでも1学期では足りません。授業を通して学生たちは、①第2次世界大戦後、大きく変わっていく国際政治の中で、「持続可能性」という概念がどのように形成されたか、②文化をめぐる概念形成や制度設計の政治性とは何かについて講義、ディスカッション、プレゼンテーション、ワークショップを通して学びました。

また、それぞれのテーマの外部講師として中村長史先生（共立女子大学）、木村秀雄先生（東京大学名誉教授）、伏見奈々先生（外務省 国際協力局 地球規模課題総括課）、Emmanuelle Robert先生（UNESCO Cultural Policies & Development)を招聘し、オンサイト・オンラインで貴重な講義とディスカッションをしていただきました。授業準備にあたり、様々な方々のサポートが不可欠でした。貴重なお時間をありがとうございました。

上述のインプットとアウトプットを踏まえ、学生たちによる『Post-SDGs Framework』提案書が出来上がりました。幅広く見ていただけるよう、日本語版と英語版で学生たちが準備したものです。是非ご一読いただけますと幸いです。

In the 2025 Spring Semester Seminar “Culture and International Organizations,” I explored the world beyond 2030 together with three students. While the SDGs are set to reach their deadline in 2030, this seminar focused on what may come after that point. With “culture” as the central theme, students were encouraged to consider what kind of international goals could be envisioned for the post-2030 era.

Both the SDGs and the concept of culture are inherently complex themes—each one alone would take more than a single semester to thoroughly explore. Throughout the course, students engaged in lectures, discussions, presentations, and workshops to examine two main topics: (1) How the concept of “sustainability” was formed in the context of the dramatically changing international politics after World War II, and (2) the political nature of conceptualizing and institutionalizing “culture.”

We were also honored to welcome several distinguished guest lecturers, both onsite and online (in the order of lectures):

Their invaluable lectures and discussions greatly enriched the students’ learning. The preparation of this course would not have been possible without the generous support of many other individuals, at MOFA and UNESCO, as well. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of them.

Building upon the knowledge and insights gained through these inputs and outputs, the students have prepared a proposal entitled the “Post-SDGs Framework.” To make it widely accessible, they have produced both Japanese and English versions. We hope you will take the time to read it.
