Denton ISD offers a variety of Programs of Study. These programs fall into endorsement areas for graduation. With so many options, students must plan carefully to enhance their skill portfolio. In addition to the state graduation core requirements, students are encouraged to select an endorsement to support their career goal. It is vital to understand that many opportunities are available through Career and Technical Education (CTE) that provide an "added value" beyond the high school diploma. To maximize student's learning and earn certifications, students are highly encouraged to follow their programs of study.

You may qualify for automatic admission to many public universities in Texas through the Top 10% Rule. To meet the requirements, you must graduate in the top 10% of your class at a recognized public or private high school in Texas or a high school operated by the U.S. Department of Defense and be a Texas resident or eligible to pay resident tuition. This rule has been modified for The University of Texas at Austin please see UT Austin Admissions for the most recent admissions information.
You will also have to ensure that all required documents are received by the institution you are applying to by the application deadline and be sure to enroll in college no more than two years after graduating from high school.
Students who receive an academic admission to a college or university are admitted based on their required coursework and graduation plan, SAT and/or ACT scores, and Class Rank.
Students who do not qualify for Automatic or Academic Admission may receive a Holistic Admission. According to College Board, Holistic Admission is a "flexible, highly individualized process by which balanced consideration is given to the multiple ways in which applicants may prepare for and demonstrate suitability. The College Board Opportunity Scholarship Program was created to celebrate and reward the effort students put into getting ready for college. Beginning with the Class of 2023, College Board has renamed the program BigFuture Scholarships.
The Scholarship Program is open to students in high school, beginning in their junior year. There are no essay, minimum GPA, test score, or citizenship requirements. The BigFuture Scholarships encourage students to complete six key college planning steps during their junior and senior years of high school. Simply complete one of the six steps before the deadline, and you will be automatically entered to win $500 and $40,000 Scholarships each month.
If you plan to play Division 1 or Division 2 sports in college, you must register with the Eligibility Center or the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics by your Junior year.

This program is for Juniors and Seniors
Juniors in the top 20% of their class, mid-year, can join the Eagle Advantage Program, and are GUARANTEED admission to the University of North Texas upon graduation. You must still complete your application by the deadline during your Senior year.
