The United States military academies have some of the most rigorous admission standards in the nation. Admission to a service academy is a two-tiered process. First, candidates must meet the minimum admission requirements set by the individual academy which include but are not limited to medical, physical and scholastic qualifications. Secondly, with the exception of the United States Coast Guard Academy, candidates must obtain a nomination from a member of Congress. Additional information regarding this step can be found HERE.
