PURPOSE

Healthcare is the largest and fastest-growing industry in the United States. In the Health Science Pathway at SVHS you can prepare for a career that promotes health, wellness and diagnosis, and treats injuries and diseases.

Some careers involve working directly with people, while others involve research into diseases or collecting and formatting data and information. You could work in hospitals, medical or dental offices, laboratories, communities, sports arenas or even the military; 

the options are limitless!

At SVHS, we currently offer a CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) and a CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) pathway.  In addition to these certifications, our students have the opportunity to become certified as Phlebotomy and EKG techs.  These certifications provide a route to a meaningful and fulfilling job after high school, as well as aid in the admission to any medical related or pre-med program. 

 The pathway offers an introduction to health science careers, medical history, medical terminology, anatomy and pathophysiology.   These courses and this pathway offer a valuable foundation for any student looking to pursue a career in the medical field.  

Our sole purpose is to guide and educate our youth providing a solid foundation for their future after high school.
