Popsicle Sticks App

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/popsicle-sticks-teacher-picks/id1139826444

Classroom Discussion is a great way to formatively assess students. If you are looking for an easy way to track and quantify your classroom discussions, try the Popsicle Stick App.

This app can be downloaded on your teacher iPad or other Apple and Android devices. There are free and paid versions available.

Name Randomizer

In this app, teachers can create rosters for each class. These classes can be used to randomly call on students. This can help ensure that all students are being called on since it tracks the number of times an individual is called on. Adjusting the Randomness Level means teachers can control whether a student might be called on again after participating. Knowing they may be called on again can help students stay more engaged in the lesson.

Scored Discusssions

Using the Scored Discussion feature, allows teachers to quantify verbal responses. Create a discussion for each topic and track students correct, incorrect, and exceptional responses. Next to each students name, the app shows how many answers they have correct out of how many times they were called as well as percentage correct.

Student Groups

Use the app to create random groups by number of groups or number of participants in each. Teachers can adjust groups by moving student names to another group or create entirely customized groups.  If the teacher is unhappy with the random grouping, they can click the 'Shuffle Names' button to generate a new set of groups.

Groups are also saved in the app, so no more forgetting which group a student is in!

Rad Roll Call

Amp up your daily attendance routine by adding a fun question.  This allows teachers to find out who is present while also allowing the class to learn more about each other in a simple way. Choose from a bank of over 200 questions that range from silly to serious. Instead of responding "present" or "here" when their name is called, students respond with their choice.
