This special team teaches cadets skills such as coordination, strategy, and planning. Orienteering provides the cadets with a sense of accomplishment, comrodery, and teamwork. Orienteering introduces cadets into the outdoors and a development of deeper appreciation for the understanding of land navigation in addition to providing excellent physical conditioning. Orienteering requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Which are in high demand in our technologically advanced society. The confidence one develops by completing a course independently(or with a small team) is a priceless resource for cadets. Orienteering consists of using a map and compass. Although normally done individually, orienteering can also be a team sport, giving participants team-building experiences and fostering the full development of leadership and communication skills.
