In-rank questions are to be studied primarily for promotion boards. Cadets should know each and every question is not only for promotion boards but also for uniform inspection, midterms, and finals. These in-rank questions are important for cadets to know because they not only teach correct uniform wear but also have information about the army and their respective activities.

1. What does ASU stand for?

Army Service Uniform.

2.What type of shirt is worn under the ASU coat?

Grey long sleeved or short sleeved shirt.

3. The black necktie/neck tab is optional when wearing what type of uniform?

Class B uniform with short sleeves.

4. What color t-shirt is worn with the ASU?

White.

5. What uniform is worn during ceremonies and social functions?

Class A, B, or ASU.

6. What uniform is worn at summer camps and for participation on special teams?

ACU.

7. What insignia do cadet officers wear on the grey beret?

Grade or rank insignia.

8.What insignia do enlisted cadets wear on the grey beret?

JROTC Insignia

9. What color t-shirt is worn with the ACU uniform?

Tan or sand.

10. How is the grade or ROTC insignia worn on the grey beret?

Centered on the flash.

11. How are the ribbons positioned on the Class A Uniform? Females:

Parallel to the nametag. Males: Centered on the left side, ⅛ of an inch above the left pocket.

12. Describe a rank. Describe whatever rank is asked by the instructor.

13. How often must a uniform be worn by cadets?

At least once per week.

14. Can a male cadet wear an earring in uniform?

No.

15. What size and color of earrings can female cadets wear in uniform?

Silver, gold, or white spherical no larger than ¼ of an inch in diameter.

16. How is the nameplate worn on the uniform?

Females: 1 to 2 inches above the top button centered horizontally on the right side of the coat. Males: Center on the nameplate on the right pocket between the top of the pocket and the top of the button.

17. What regulations cover the wear of the uniform?

Army Regulation (AR) 670-1 and Cadet Command Regulation (CCR) 145-2.

18. Are shoulder boards authorized for wear with the Class B uniform?

Yes.
