Recommended Audience: Core Secondary Teachers
This course will familiarize new-to-Comal core (math, science, ELA, social studies) secondary teachers with district resources. We will explain documents such as unit maps, year at a glance, vertical alignment documents, writing tools, and many other available resources that teachers can use to help plan for instruction and enrich lessons. Teachers will walk away with knowledge of where these resources can be found and how to use them.
Credits: 3 hours
Recommended Audience: 6-8 Science Teachers
Teachers will complete the asynchronous online course by TEA.
This self-paced course is a foundational training module for science safety at the middle school level. The course provides middle school teachers an opportunity to review safety policies, procedures, and responsibilities that pertain to instructional settings.
Credits: 3 Hour
Recommended Audience: 9-12 Science Teachers

Recommended Audience: 6-12 World Languages Teachers
Participants will review information related to World Languages in Comal ISD, guiding principles for World Language instruction, and related curriculum. Participants will be asked to respond to various questions as they proceed through the course.
Credits: 3 hours
Recommended Audience: ECSE - 12 Special Education staff who will utilize Embrace.
Participants will learn how to use Embrace. Embrace is the IEP data management software systems used in Comal ISD. This training is intended for all new to Comal Special Education staff who will utilize Embrace.
Credits: 1.5 Hours
Recommended Audience: ECSE- 12 Special Education Teachers
Participants new to Comal ISD will learn the mission and vision of the special education department. Participants will gain an understanding of the curricula and supplemental resources the district has to offer for each program. Participants will also become familiar with support personnel who assist with IEP development and implementation. Participants will learn the district expectations for case management.
