There are lots of difference ways to set goals, track goals, and track grades/assignments-- the important part is to make it a consistent part of the AVID elective class and take it campus-wide if possible. GPA calculating and tracking should be done so students know where they are standing on a college scale.

Learning logs, assignment logs, and use of a calendar can be incorporated in to goal benchmarks. I would also introduce students to some visuals from "goal trackers" or "habit trackers" in bullet journals on Pinterest.
