Cheerleader Application Packet
Clinic Permission Slip– guardian must sign to permit the athlete to attend tryout week.
STUNT Quarter Preference Form– athlete & guardian must sign off on the preference sheet stating they understand initial placement is not final & changes will be made during the season.
Cheerleader Resume– a complete history & information on the cheerleader
Cheerleader Interview Questions– need to be answered to the best of the athlete’s ability.
Letters of Recommendation– cheerleaders have the opportunity to collect recommendations from any teacher or staff member at their school. This section is not required but is recommended.
Current STUNT Cheerleaders ONLY
All uniform pieces must be turned in, and you can’t have any outstanding cheer fines.
***Anyone with outstanding fines cannot participate until they are paid***
Attend the entire week of March 2nd-6th with 1 open gym, 3 clinic days & tryouts (required).
Pre-season is not required, but heavily recommended!
Follow all MSHSAA, NFHS, and USA Cheer rules and regulations: NO jewelry of any kind, hair up and all the way off the shoulders, no glitter, fingernails can’t be longer than fingertips, tennis shoes/sneakers/cheer shoes, and athletic wear
NO high tops, flip flops, slides, sandals, boots, heels, etc.
The 3 B’s: No Belly, No Bra straps, and No Bottom showing
No spacers or bandages. Cheerleaders MUST remove jewelry to participate and need to be able to do so on their own. *required for every cheer-related activity!*
New piercings during your time as a cheerleader are discouraged. It will prevent you from stunting and tumbling at any of the practices/games until you are able to remove the jewelry.
White t-shirt, black athletic shorts/skirt/leggings (no cotton leggings), tennis/cheer shoes, hair all the way up, bow/ribbon (encouraged)
Tryout results are posted to our website on Saturday, March 7th, at 10:00 am. Look for your tryout number on all quarters, as those will be your initial positions when the season starts.
This doesn’t mean you will permanently be on that quarter(s); it is just the starting point when we enter practice season.

Partner Stunts (4-person stunt groups)

You will learn a mock quarter 2 routine.
Quarter 2: Pyramids & Tosses
There is NOT a pyramid section of tryouts. Basket tosses will be taught during preseason and skills gym!

Friday, March 6th, TRYOUTS
Everything from the open gym, clinics, and your “gameday performance” will be used to recruit you for one or more of the quarter teams.
The scoring will work similarly to how the game of stunt is performed.
Quarter 1 Partner Stunts: 50pts possible
Quarter 2 Basket Tosses: 30 pts possible
Quarter 3 Jumps & Tumbling: 70pts possible
The final score is composed of the average of all judges out of 150 points possible.
Scores are not released until Saturday at 10:00 AM, the day after tryouts; only the tryout numbers are posted.
