Edith Hugoniot (along with her husband Dick) spent her adult life until retirement working with Wycliffe Bible Translators, mostly in Asia. She studied linguistics and the Bible with a plan to translate the Bible into a minority language that had never had any literature or even been written. A few years into their career, Dick was elected Director of the work in the country they were serving, so her role changed. Over the years she helped colleagues learn the national language, did secretarial work, lead Bible study, and wrote for Wycliffe publications. The purpose of missions is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people around the world, so that they may have the opportunity to know and follow the true and living God. Our vision and desire is for our congregation to advance this purpose through supporting some of the people God has called into various kinds missionary service in other countries. This support is in the forms of prayer, connection and finances.
