At Federal Way Nazarene our mission is to introduce children to Jesus and God’s story written in the Bible in a fun, loving, safe environment for children and in partnership with their families.
We offer developmentally appropriate classes, led by volunteers who engage our kids in discovering who Jesus is through engaging curriculum that also reflects the diversity of God's people. Our current curriculum, KidSpring, provides a hands-on approach to Bible based lessons
-Nursery Class | Infants-36 months
-Preschool/ Kindergarten Class | 3-6 Years
-1st – 5th Grade Class | 6-11 years
At Federal Way Nazarene, we value providing safe environments for kids and families. We ask all volunteers who serve in kids' classes to have attended Federal Way Nazarene for a minimum of six months, and to complete a background check.
Below is a list of student profiles of those who have fully registered and are waiting for a tutor.
2nd grade girl with a lot of curiosity and smiles who’s family is from Moldova and speaks 4 languages in the home.
4th grade girl who is fun loving and part of the same Moldovan family.
5th grade boy who is math whiz and is coming for help with reading, writing and language skills. His family is Russian and they speak Russian in the home.
3rd grade very active and social boy who loves to tell stories. He comes for help with focus and staying on task to complete work.
3rd grade girl who lives in a home where Spanish and English are spoken. She loves to ‘come to church’ each week. Her family has been through some big transitions. She comes for a stable place where she is loved and known.
4th grade girl who has grown up in a Spanish speaking home and has been referred to us by friends for help with reading and math.
KidREACH Tutors and Volunteers
We are starting up KidREACH our outreach tutoring program that is sponsored by World Vision in October. We have children with big smiles, warm hearts and bright minds that come to us each week for some one-on-one time and help with reading, writing and math. A heart to be a part of a kids life is all that is needed. We have families that keep coming back each year and that also bring their kids to other ministries including Easter and Kids Camp. Join us in making a difference one life at a time.
