Graduation Requirements
to graduate high school, Students in Indiana must complete
all three domains of a Graduation Pathway.
Domain 1: Diploma Requirements
Students are required to earn a Core 40, Academic Honors, or Technical Honors diploma.
Your guidance counselor keeps track of your credit progress but you are responsible for passing your required classes!
Domain 2: Demonstrate Employability Skills
Students must show that they are "employable" by gaining soft skills through participation in a Project-Based, Service-Based, or Work-Based learning experience. You can meet this through participation in a performing arts program, athletics, peer tutoring, volunteer work, club membership, having a job, or attending the Career Academy at Anthis.
You will need to communicate with your guidance counselor about what learning experience you completed! You are responsible for completing this requirement. The form you should complete is posted here titled "Employment or Service-Based Verification" form.
Domain 3: Demonstrate Post-Secondary Competencies
Students must show they are preparing for life after high school by completing one of the following post-secondary competencies:
earning an honors diploma
earning a college benchmark score on the ACT or SAT
earning a minimum AFQT score of 31 on the ASVAB
earning a state-industry recognized certification
joining a federally recognized apprenticeship program
completing a career technical education concentrator at Career Academy at Anthis or at North Side with a C average or higher - North Side's programs are listed on our website.
completing 3 AP/Dual Credit courses with a C average or higher
completing the Civic Arts locally created pathway.
Your guidance counselor will help you keep track of which post-secondary competency you are working toward completing! You are responsible for completing this requirement.
Note: Students in the 2022 graduating class can opt to pass both parts of the ISTEP+ and complete diploma requirements in lieu of completing a graduation pathway.
