WV Tree Syrup Community

The Community

The WV tree syrup producer community is a large community spanning across the state of WV and includes sycamore, walnut, and maple tree syrup enthusiasts. Alongside organizations such as the WVMSPA and WVDA, this community has the potential to act together and catalyze energy to make better-informed agritourism, production, and process decisions.

Working Partnerships, Sustainable Results

Thorough the 'Sweet Opportunities' initiative, partnerships are developed across West Virginia and other parts of Appalachia to start, sustain, or expand upon existing tree syrup enterprises.

This work is supported by funding from the USDA Acer Access Program along with services and programs of the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, Future Generations University Appalachian Program, and the West Virginia Maple Syrup Producers Association.
