The West Virginia tree syrup community, consisting of the tree syrup producers & West Virginia Maple Syrup Producers Association, Future Generations University Appalachian Program, and the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, work together to forward the maple syrup industry in West Virginia through education, research, resources, and community engagement.
This community holistically works alongside other community members like Convention & Visitors Bureaus, Economic Development Authorities, Chambers of Commerce, Extension Offices, schools, libraries, and other community organizers.

Many of the projects collectively worked on by the West Virginia Tree Syrup Community are funded through grants from the United States Department of Agriculture's Acer Access Program.

Agricultural Promotions Partner
West Virginia Department of Agriculture's Business Development Program manages the West Virginia Grown Program. Â This program promotes farmers and producers growing, making, and selling West Virginia produced, agricultural items.
West Virginia Grown highlights the value-added products, u-pick farms, and produce created locally in West Virginia.
Through newsletters, Market Bulletins, social media, and other advertising & marketing campaigns, the program promotes agritourism, the people behind the farms, and the products they make.
