Students are expected to come to Core Support prepared each day with the materials they need for class. They should maintain an agenda, planner, or other organizational system to keep track of assignments, projects, quizzes, and tests. During Core Support, students are expected to actively participate, complete assigned tasks, and use class time to review, organize, and complete work from their general education classes. Students will also work toward achieving the goals outlined in their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Student grades in Core Support are based on participation, engagement, productivity, completion of classroom assignments, organization, journal writing, and effort toward meeting individual learning goals. Grading accommodations and modifications will be provided in accordance with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Students are encouraged to develop habits that will help them be successful both in Core Support and throughout middle school.
