Weekly library class visits
Each class will visit the library weekly for storytime and book checkouts.
Books are checked out for one week and must be returned on your student’s library day (or as designated by your student’s teacher).
If your student wants to renew a book, they must still bring it back on the due date to be renewed.
Library fines
The school library does not charge daily overdue fees. However, the district does require that fees be charged for lost or damaged books. Paperbacks are $10 minimum; hardbacks $25 minimum.
Please note: If a book has water damage it must be replaced, even if the book has dried out. This is because the pages may be damaged/warped/stuck together, the binding glue compromised, and/or the book may eventually grow mold.
Please give payments (cash only) to your student's teacher; your student will be given a receipt.
Parents, please help your student(s) be responsible for taking care of their library books!
Keep school library books in a safe place, away from siblings and pets.
Keep school library books separate from your public library books or personal book collections.
Please do NOT return Maloney school library books to the public library, as they may become lost books.
Please take precautions so your library books do not get wet. It is highly recommended to provide your child with a reusable ziploc or plastic bag (no holes/rips) to keep their library books protected against accidental spills, rain, etc.
Please help your student remember to return their library books on their library day.
If you are planning to move and/or change schools, please make sure your student returns their library books to their teacher or the school library before they leave Maloney.
