Senior Night Football game

  Last Friday was the Senior night football game at Poston Butte High School. Before the game could start, they held the senior night ceremony. First, they brought out the football players. The following football seniors were named: Quenton Jones, Tristan Wenta, Jakhi Robertson, Julien Bernard, Nijay Wilson, Terraude Kisto, Michael Whitman, Reginald Auelua, Dalton Vangordon, Nathan Herrera, Angel Castaneda, Nathan Henderson, Kaleb Snyder, Casey Williams-Gonzales, Isaiah Wallace, Apitanga Tukuafu, Zeke Criswell, and Anthony Stone. After the football players, the cheerleaders, band, color guard, and cross country seniors had their senior ceremony.  The following cheerleaders were Natalie Lloyd, Jenna Parker, Violet Garcia, Mariela Torres, Rachel Aguilar, Faith Limon, Kenzie Wicklund, Sofia Bowers, and Anisha Johnson.  Mac Muzzy was the only senior for the color guard class of 2024. As for the band, the following seniors were Shaylin Goehring (flute), Ethan Acosta (tuba),Colin Raske (trombone), and Kayden Ochoa (percussion). As for Cross Country, there were only 2 seniors, Anthony Soria and Kaeden Christenson. 

As the game was about to begin, the stands were packed with students, parents, and alumni all there to celebrate our seniors. The game started strong as the first play turned into a 60-yard touchdown. Quenton Jones had a great senior night as he scored 2 touchdowns and had an interception in the first and second quarters. As halftime hit, the band and color guard students performed. The halftime score was Poston-28 to Marcos de Niza-0. Another great play was when Mason Lloyd had an 89-yard touchdown. Evan Moore had a 45-yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter. By the end of the game, the final score turned out to be 49 to 12, which allowed our football team to advance into the playoffs.
