Learning Supports for Students During Quarantine/ Isolation
Learning Supports for Students During Quarantine/ Isolation
When students are subject to mandatory quarantine or isolation, the following learning support will be provided by grade-level.
Grades K-12: Asynchronous Learning
All students who are in quarantine have access to asynchronous learning via Google Classroom (or Seesaw for kindergarten). Teachers will provide information about how to access Google Classroom and directions for assignments.
Any additional materials needed for learning will be available for pick up at your child's school. If you unable to pick up necessary materials, please contact the main office of your child's school for assistance.
During quarantine, students should complete assigned work and turn all completed assignments in to their teacher.
All students in mandatory quarantine or isolation will be provided additional time to make up assignments, in accordance with our make up policy, once they are able to return to school.
Families should contact their child's teacher with questions about asynchronous learning.
Grade 7-12: Academic Support During the School Day
Students in grades 7-12 have access to teaching assistant support all day during regular school hours. Students and parents will receive an email with directions and details about how to access this support.
Grades K-12: After School Quarantine Tutoring
(updated 10/15/21)
Julie Cook-Lynch , a teacher at Lanigan, is now coordinating after school tutoring for students in mandatory quarantine.
Ms. Cook-Lynch implemented tutoring for students in grades K-6 over the last two weeks, and tutoring for quarantined students in grades 7 & 8 will be available at the beginning of next week (week of October 18).
Recruitment of tutors for the high school level is ongoing. After school tutoring will be made available to high school students in the near future.
If your child is quarantined, Ms. Cook-Lynch will contact you directly to explain how your child can access tutoring support. While this tutoring is optional, it does provide quarantined students with direct access to certified teachers who can assist with learning.
We encourage all quarantined students to participate:
Tutoring for K-6 students is from 3:45-4:45 pm, Monday - Friday.
Tutoring for students in grades 7-12 is scheduled from 2:45-4:45 pm, Monday-Friday.
In-person After School Tutoring is Now Available
(updated 12/6/21)
After school in-person tutoring for students in grades 7-12 is now available for up to two weeks once a student returns from quarantine.
