As an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at CSUF and Co-Director of the California Mathematics Project, I’ve spent the last decade partnering with both current and future teachers of mathematics to bridge the gap between research and everyday classroom joy.
My goal is to build collaborative communities where educators feel empowered to take risks and improve their teaching for TK-12 children. I’m deeply committed to equity-centered practice, ensuring that mathematics and emerging technologies are more than just school subjects—they are tools for social justice.
When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my furry animals, being in nature, and spending quality time with friends and family.

(Dept. of Elementary & Bilingual Education)
Charles E. Flowers Jr. is an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education at California State University, Fullerton, and Director of the BLOCKS Early STEM Education Lab. He earned his Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Dr. Flowers’ research examines how teachers learn and enact equity-oriented pedagogical practices that support culturally relevant interactions in early STEM education, particularly in mathematics, data science, and AI-related computational learning contexts. His work focuses on how participation in these interactions shapes racially minoritized young children’s learning and identity development. His scholarship contributes to research, practice, and policy aimed at advancing equity in early STEM education.
Prior to joining Cal State Fullerton, Dr. Flowers spent over a decade as an early childhood educator in urban public schools in Tennessee.

I'm a student pursuing my bachelors in Computer Science. My eventual goal is to go into the ever growing and developing field of Artificial Intelligence, which I why I decided that this wuold be a good idea.
Aside from that, I have my own Startup, name SoCal Bluprint, where we design Websites, graphics, and more for individual people and local businesses, so if you are interested, don't hesitate to contact us!
