College of William and Mary, University of Michigan, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are examples of well-known public colleges and universities outside of California. If you are interested in a public college or university in a state other than California, you will apply as a non-resident and your application process will be more like a private school application process than a UC or CSU process. Be sure to visit the Admissions website of each school to learn their specific Admissions requirements and processes.

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)
The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is a program coordinated by the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). Through WUE, students in Western states may enroll in participating two-year and four-year public college programs at a reduced tuition level, up to 150 percent of the institution’s regular resident tuition. University abroad is very different than US model
Career programs, also referred to as vocational, occupational, or technical programs, prepare students with entry level and upgraded job skills and training necessary for employment. Programs range in length from one semester to two years. Units earned may be applied toward the Associate Degree. Students who successfully complete these programs will be awarded a certificate of achievement. The community colleges in the area offer different career programs, so consult the brochures in the College/Career Center or the Guidance offices as some colleges specializes in specific vocational and technical programs.
