Water Quality & CCR Report

What is the quality of my drinking water?

The First Utility District of Carter has approximately 137 miles of main water lines - a critical infrastructure that requires constant protection, monitoring and maintenance to insure reliable and safe delivery of our most important natural resource.  Under State and Federal guidance we perform numerous tests designed to ensure our community  continues to benefit from a safe and secure supply of our nations most delicious drinking water. First Utility utilizes three industry standard chemical treatments to ensure a reliable supply of potable water:

Chlorine bleach for disinfection, EC-309 for coagulation and poly phosphate for corrosion control. Along with many other tests First Utility performs, the Utility collects 9 samples per month for Bacteriological testing. If you would like Utility to perform a Bacteriological test at your meter please contact our office.
