I THINK I SEE A LEAK
Managing leaks is a necessary priority in the states oldest water system - if you see one, please report it. As soon as we know about the leak we can repair it. Please call (423) 474-2154 (24 Hours A Day)
WHAT CAUSES PIPES TO LEAK?
Leaks happen for lots of different reasons, it could be that underground pipes are old or they have been damaged. Sometimes, arctic weather can freeze and crack pipes. Also, improper installation is often a problem.
WHY DOESN'T THE UTILTY KNOW WHERE ALL THE LEAKS ARE?
Underground pipes can leak and burst anywhere and even though we are doing all we can to prevent leaks and to repair them quickly, they can be difficult to locate, so we really appreciate your extra help.
WHEN IS A LEAK NOT A LEAK?
It's usually simple to identify a leak, it's often clear water which can be trickling or gushing from the ground. Water lying over a drain after it's been raining heavily, probably is not a leak. However, if you are not sure, let us know about it.
WHAT KIND OF WATER PRESSURE SHOULD I EXPECT
Your faucet should provide sufficient force and volume to fill a glass or kettle reasonably quickly - we are directed by the State of Tennessee to deliver a pressure of 20 PSI to the water meter of each customer. If you feel there is a problem with the volume or pressure of your home/office water service, please contact us.
