TechnoHuskies competed against 72 middle and high school teams from 11 states in FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) North Super Regional Robotics Championship, hosted by University of Iowa at Cedar Rapid, IA. Their presentation before judges on mastering robot intelligence earned them a second judging interview. Their robot put in a solid performance and ranked 18th in the robot competition. They were in alliance with teams from the states of Iowa (Cybots, Cross Fires), Minnesota (Rubies), South Dakota (Roncalli Robo Cavs), Michigan (Bionic Sailors, Team KAOS, Robo Rebels), Indiana (The Gas Attendants, Pixelated). TechnoHuskies, despite being a smaller, middle school team, worked well with their alliance teams in highly competitive play fields and earned highest ranking points among top 20 teams as a result. Together they had 4 wins, 4 losses, and one tie.
Students who represented the team were Joseph He (6th grade), Margaret Hitt (6th grade), Omer Khan (8th grade), Luke McMahan (6th grade), James Mowry (8th grade), and Boaz Qiu (6th grade). This unique championship experience expands their knowledge of science and technology and marks as a high note of their FTC season. Good job, TechnoHuskies!
