About the Workshop
This two-day workshop, delivered in English and Albanian, aims to equip graduate students — both Master's and PhD level — with practical, hands-on skills in analyzing research data and effectively communicating their findings through academic writing. It will provide structured guidance to help students move from raw data to a clearly presented, academically rigorous methods and results sections. Participants will work through real examples, receive expert feedback, and leave with concrete strategies they can apply immediately to their own research.
Topics Covered
• Introduction to research: principles and approaches
• Numerical data analysis: working with numerical data, descriptive and inferential statistics
• Categorical data analysis: coding, thematic analysis, and interpretation
• Selecting and using appropriate analytical tools (SPSS, R)
• Presenting and documenting results in academic writing
• Structuring the methods/results chapter of a thesis
• Using tables, figures, and visualizations effectively
• Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
• Q&A and individual feedback session
Who Should Attend
This workshop is open to:
• Master's students working on their thesis research
• PhD students at any stage of their doctoral research
• Students from all departments within the Faculty of Natural Sciences
• Students from other faculties at the University of Tirana are welcome to apply, subject to available capacity
