Create some brainstorm sketches for both the packaging and any images you will need on the packaging. Use Google drawings for creating your final images.
Build a prototype of your packaging our of paper or cardboard. Create a brand new design or use existing packaging as a template for the shape. *DON'T glue you package at this stage* You want to be able to glue or draw your designs on while it is flat.
Origami can be a good choice for certain types of boxes. Here are some examples of different origami boxes.
Create the designs for the front, back, top, bottom and sides of your packaging in Google Drawings. Use the measurements from your prototype to set up your canvas size in Google Drawing.
