For a design like a logo make your canvas small, like 5 x 5 inches. If it is for a poster or something that will be printed, make it 8 x 10. A test or practice drawing can be any size.
Create3 or more different shapes. Select them from the drop down menu and click within your drawing to create the shape.
Hold the shift key while you drag one of the square anchor points to keep a shape from distorting while you resize it.
Use the round anchor point to rotate a shape. What happens when you hold shift while you rotate?
If a shape has a yellow diamond, you can use it to adjust and refine your shape. They all work differently, so try them out.
Adjust the color and outline of your shapes fill color, border color, and border weight tools.
Use the Order option under Arrange menu to move shapes in front of and behind other shapes.
You can select many shapes at once by holding shift while you click on them or by drawing a box around them with the select tool. If you want them to stay together, select Group under the Arrange menu.
Try making unique and original shapes with the Polyline Tool.
Try making shapes with the curve tool. How does it differ from the Polyline Tool?
If you are going to include words in your digital drawing, be sure to use Word Art instead of a text box. Word Art behaves like a shape and is much easier to work with.
Include some word art into your drawing and then play with changing the font, size, and color like you did with your other shapes.
