Drawing Prompts

Pick a meaningful lyric from one of your favorite songs. Illustrate the lyric using the medium of your choice. Add detail and fill the page!

Write or draw your name in as many different styles and ways possible. Then, cut the styles and letters apart and put them back together in a new way.

Write and illustrate a comic about your daily life outside of school. Who are the main characters? What is the setting? What happens?

Design an invention for an animal. Think about what needs the animal has and how your invention could meet them.

Invent a new product. Design what the packaging would look like. Create an advertisement for you product including a sales pitch.

Invent a robot that would make your life easier in some way. Draw your robot with as much detail as possible.

Choose a shape. Draw a complete scene with foreground, middle ground, and background only using that shape. Include color, value and shading.

Design your own memory game with sets of matching cards. What is the theme of your matching game? When you are finished, challenge someone to play!

Choose one animal and one household object. Now, draw them merged together as one imaginary creature. Don't forget to add a background!
