Special Education Services
Special Education services at Frontier High School are predominantly delivered through an integrated co-teaching program in the four core academic areas (English, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science). This program teams a special education teacher with a regular education content teacher in a traditional classroom setting that includes both special needs and general education students. Students receive their special education services in the regular classroom.
Resource Room students will be assigned to Regents/common core classes and have access to their special education services through a scheduled resource room period.
Test modifications are available to all special education students. However, the specific modifications must be indicated on each student's IEP.
Transition Services
Transition Services are available to all students who receive Special Education services. Students will receive extra support to prepare for life after high school, including college and career research and preparation, job readiness, and referral to community services. These services will support the goals in each student's IEP. A Transition Specialist is located in room 201, and can be reached at 716-926-1720, ext. 1814.
