Foundation-level course engaging students in hands-on laboratories and activities to explore the world of animal agriculture. This class takes students through animal anatomy, physiology, behavior, nutrition, reproduction, health, selection, and marketing.
Prerequisite of Agriscience II. Are you a leader? Do you want to be a leader? If so, then step up for Ag Skills and Leadership! In this class, you will be exposed to all of the leadership opportunities that FFA and the Ag Industry have to offer! You will gain experience in Prepared Public Speaking, Extemporaneous Public Speaking, Job Interviewing Skills, Sales and Marketing which will give you a leg up on the competition be it in the FFA or in the career world! Also, take a role as a leader in the FFA by helping to plan and execute chapter activities! This class is going to be non-stop fun, don’t miss out!
This course is also where your science knowledge is out in to gear. We will cover ecosystems, human and animal biology, respiratory and digestive systems, genetics, reproduction and evolution by looking at it through the agriculture lens. The year will culminate with one or more in class dissections.
This course covers basic hand tool and machine operations in the wood/carpentry shop. Shop and machine safety are prioritized and operation of radial arm saws, jointer, table saw, bandsaw, jigsaw, drill press, sanders, lathe, and portable tools will be implemented. First semester consists of required projects aimed at principles of construction, joints, assembly, gluing, clamping, and finish. Second semester focuses on the design and construction of the student’s own project(s).
Wood Tech II is a continuation of Wood Tech I with an emphasis placed on joints, construction principles, doors, drawers, and spray finishes. Primary focus is on machine woodworking skills and the use of materials and processes. Students will be engaged in more complex/advanced projects.
Advanced Wood Tech is a continuation of Wood Tech II with an emphasis placed on advanced construction principles and application.
If you are looking for a class where you can put your hands to work it is finally here. You will have the opportunity to learn tool safety, basic plumbing, electricity, woodworking and welding. All the essentials needed to become the handiest person in your home. FFA is a part of this course so you can also develop your leadership skills. Now you will have all of the tools to really build a better you!
Mech I Are you ready to expand on those craftsman skills that you developed in Ag mechanics I? If so, then this course is for you! Students will learn different welding technics such as SMAW, GMAW, and OFC. These technics as well as building small projects await those who sign up for Ag Mechanics II. Don’t forget that you also get to be a part of the FFA, and put to use your skills as a leader!
Prerequisite of Ag Mech II . Design and Fabrication is a small class for those who have plans to pursue a career in the field. This course focuses primarily on design and will utilize state-of-the-art tools such as 3D Printers to create professional projects. These projects can potentially be marketed for a split student and department profit.
