New Girl in Town
Eureka. Montana. Big Valley. Here. Every place had a fair, and every place had a school. I never know anybody, but that’s not so bad; I get to meet new people. First day at Fall River, and I met Savannah! I was on the bus, and she noticed I was new. “Hey! Are you in the 8th grade? Need some help?” Her red hair was like a flame of welcome. “Follow me. Let’s check out the office.”
In the office, the first thing I noticed about Theresa was that she had short, blonde hair. I also noticed she looked kinda like the secretary at my old school. “Hey, are you the new girl?”
“Yes,” I said. I gave her my papers that I’d had to sign. “I need a schedule for my classes because mine is at home.” I'm already messing up. Once I got my schedule, Savannah took me to my first period, Mr. Howes. “Hey. I’m the new student, and my name is Amy.” After we met, Savannah showed me where all of my classes were going to be.
The bell rang: "I have to go to art,” said Savannah. I went to my first period class, and my teacher was talking about how we had to write a story. Thereasa walked in and gave me my locker number and combination.
“Do you want to open your locker?” asked Mr Howes.
"Sure.” We walked out to go find my locker. I tried to open it, but I got it wrong. Messing up again.
“You have to past 11, then go to your 2nd number.” After we opened my locker, we went back to the class, and I started writing. This story. The new girl.
Lunch time is the true test for a new girl: “Hey, is it lunch time?” I asked Soshi.
“Yes it is. Do you want to come with me?”
“Sure!” We all walked over to the cafeteria, and I packed my lunch. Turkey sandwich, Cheeze-itz, and blueberries. Gonna live forever. After lunch I had four more classes. “Hey, what's your next class?” I asked Savannah.
"I have P. E.” We all went to the gym and we walked our laps. We didn’t run like in Montana. From a bear. Here, we got to go outside and free play as long as we were active. No bears. Me, Savannah, and Soshi went out to the football field. Once the teacher blew the whistle, we went to our other classes. After school I went home.
“Did you have a good day?” my mom asked.
"Yes, it was really fun,” I said. “I had a great first day.”
