Students will be chosen through a lottery system. This is done instead of voting in order to allow all students the opportunity to be member of the team.

The Role of Pink Spirit Captain

The Spirit Captain team is also nicknamed the "Hype Crew" because their most exciting activity on campus is leading Good Morning Pink (GMP) each month. In order to do this, we need enthusiastic or "hype" kids! As this is a campus team and only for 5th graders, it is a privilege, and thus there are requirements for students in order for them to participate in the team. Please Note: If a student is selected to join the team and at any point does not follow the below requirements, the child will no longer be eligible to participate in the Spirit Captains Club and the team's functions/duties.

Spirit Captain Qualities

• be a positive role model

• maintain good class behavior and "S" conduct grades across the campus (no office referrals)

• have a positive and enthusiastic attitude

• can display high energy at GMP

• comfortable being in front of the school at GMP (live and streaming)

What a Spirit Captain Does

• hypes up the audience

• announces winning grade levels (Pink Bucks, etc.)

• MORE!

Requirements

• arrive to school at 7:30 on GMP days 

• wear a Pink ES shirt to GMP

• pay a non-refundable $15 team fee 

NOTE: If a student is no longer able to be a Spirit Captain, the club fee WILL not be returned

Application Steps

Complete no later than November 10th at 9:00pm:

1. Online parent consent Google Form 

This MUST be completed by a parent/guardian. The email address of the parent will be collected. Student email addresses used to complete the Form will not be accepted. This is to ensure parent acknowledgment & consent.

How Captains are Selected

Students will be drawn through a lottery-process on November 10th. 

Spirit Captains will be communicated by November 13th.

To conserve paper and improve efficiency, most communications will be electronic through Remind.  

NOTE: This group text message list is open to all Spirit Captains and their families.  The list of members and numbers is only visible to Ms. Dawkins.  Group text messages will be sent to remind students and parents of important details, new information, or possible changes as they arise.

The cost to join is $15 paid through OnlineSchoolPayments (at a later date). 

This money goes towards the cost of the club items and end of year club party. 

The club fee is non-refundable. 

MEETING ATTENDANCE

Students will meet in the Pink cafeteria at 7:30am on Good Morning Pink (GMP) days to rehearse.
