Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is designed to be an awareness campaign that gets information out to the general public about the dangers of drug use. The Lock Your Meds Campaign is designed to prevent prescription drug abuse. Our focus at Norris Elementary during this week is on making positive, healthy, and safe choices.

We want students to have the courage to stand up and make the right choices for themselves, which includes hanging around those who will also make good choices, doing what's right even when no one else is doing it, and speaking up when they see or know of a harmful or hurtful situation. Though we discuss this throughout the year, we want to emphasize that it is a lifelong process.

During this very important week in Guidance, we will be discussing proper medicine use including safe and unsafe ways to take medication for those students in kindergarten through second grade. For students in third through fifth grade, we will be identifying the proper use of medications, and the dangers and effects of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco on our bodies. Please feel free to preview the lessons below.
