Meet the Counselor

Hey there Norris Elementary! I'm so excited to be starting the 2023-2024 school year with you. This will be my 19th year in education and my 15th as a school counselor. I spent 12 years as a middle school counselor and four years prior to that teaching at the elementary level. I taught first grade, second grade, and fourth grade. This is my third year at Norris Elementary.

I'm originally from Southern California, born and raised. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing from the University of California, Riverside, and my Master's Degree in Educational Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Counseling from Azusa Pacific University. My family and I moved to Texas in the summer of 2019.

I married my high school sweetheart and we have been married for 22 years. We have three exceptional children. Our son, Hollyn, is 16 and a sophomore in high school; Macie, our only girl, is 13 and an eighth grader; and our youngest son, Erich, is 11 and a fifth grader. They're all involved in activities and/or some sort of sport, so I definitely know the demands of after school life and still maintaining excellent grades. Just as I expect with my own, I fully anticipate every student to give their best effort and I'm here to help every student achieve success to their fullest potential.
