Fastpac Snack Bag Volunteer Opportunity
In addition to providing weekend meal packs to the children of Frisco ISD, Fastpacs also provides snack bags to the schools. These are paper grocery bags filled with a variety of 25-30 snack items for the counselors and teachers to use for children who may not have the means to bring a snack to school. Bags should be dropped off at the Frisco Fastpac Warehouse on designated days. Emerson will allow up to 5 bags per year for Community Service Hours. We are so excited for you to start your final year at Reedy. We are proud of how far you have come and can’t wait to see what is next. We know this time is stressful and can be confusing with all the information surrounding what to do next. We know the college admissions process, career exploration, and just the general, what to do next can be hard to navigate. We wanted to make sure that everyone is one is aware of the plan for guidance for all Seniors as we navigate this school year. Below is our schedule and what to expect for this first semester!
Senior Guidance will cover everything from the college application process, getting a recommendation letter, FAFSA, scholarships, ACT and SAT, 2-year colleges, trade schools, workforce information, and more.
As explained in Jump Start Juniors last April, we asked that students work through some of the steps of the admissions process in the Summer. Here is the presentation as a reminder. We will expand on the next steps during our Senior Guidance. Feel free to continue to work on any steps listed in this presentation prior to our meeting. This included starting your profile, writing your essays, and even taking the SAT or ACT again if needed.
August 21st and ongoing every Wednesday:
College Reps will be in the café for students to explore schools and ask questions to various reps.

August 27th: 9 am
Senior Parent Meeting: virtual meeting covering the guidance we will give Seniors, as well as details about using Parchment (our transcript processing system)
Links will be sent for this meeting closer to the date.
August 28th and 29th:
Senior Guidance Presentations
All Seniors will meet with the counselors during their English period to receive Senior Guidance over these two days.
All Dual Credit students can meet during 1st, advisory or 4th period on August 28th, or during advisory on August 29th. If none of those times work, they need to speak with their counselor.
August 30th and ongoing:
Counselors will process Recommendation Letters, using the system covered in guidance.
Counselors will work with students individually, as requested, for support during their application process. Students can sign up to see their counselor or Ms. Kelly, College and Career Counselor anytime.
September 20th:
New Senior Rank and GPA will be released in HAC
Note: students can order transcripts now to send before Sept 20th, these will include last year’s rank/gpa/class size
December: TBD
Return of the Lions- Reedy Alumni will return to talk to our students about their College experience.

If you have a class that says @CTEC on your schedule- this section applies to you. Only classes with @CTEC go to the CTE Center. All other CTE classes are on campus.

Class time are different that Reedy at the CTE Center to make sure students can get to classes in time!
1st period: 8:45-10:15
2nd period: 10:45-12:15
3rd period: 1:00-2:30
4th period: 3:05-4:35
Tardy Policy: all students are expected to be on time. Students riding the shuttle bus are exempt from receiving a tardy.
Parking: students who plan to drive to the CTE Center will need a current year parking sticker from their HOME CAMPUS. The CTE Center does not require a separate parking pass. Parents can also choose to drop students off 1st period instead of taking the bus.
Lunches: The CTE Center does not have a cafeteria. Students who have a 3rd period CTE Center class will need to eat “A” lunch at Reedy and then catch the shuttle bus to the CTE Center after “A” lunch.
If you have 2nd and 3rd period at the CTE Center, you will need to bring a sack lunch. You will not have time to each when you return to Reedy.
Shuttle Busses: transportation is provided to and from Reedy for each class period. 1st and 4th period shuttles may have additional designated stops in neighborhoods per the FISD transportation department. Early Dismissal from the CTE Center: a parent note/email is required to be dismissed early from the CTE Center, this includes ALL SCHOOL EVENTS (band, athletic events, drill team, cheer, etc. Parents will need to email cteattendance@friscoisd.org. All students must check in the CTE Center from office.

This course is designed for students who want a comprehensive review of all content on the Digital SAT plus best strategies to prepare you for the exam! All FISD students get 30% off the course!

Each year, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards 150 college scholarships worth $20,000 to high school students across the United States through the Coca-Cola Scholars Program.

ASVAB Test
Reedy High School will administer the DIGITAL Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, or ASVAB to interested 10th - 12th grade students.
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) is a comprehensive, no cost, no commitment career planning resource designed to help young people align their strengths and interests with a post high school plan that works.
ASVAB CEP is not just about military entrance. It encourages students to:
•Explore their interests and the full-spectrum of career options
•Create a plan toward getting the skills and qualifications they need to meet career goals
