Beginning Monday, December 9th, students can pick up an “Advanced/AP Change Form” in the counseling office. The form is only available in the counseling office and must be completed before any change can be considered.
This form must be completed and turned in no later than 4:30 pm on December 18th, 2024. All changes will take effect January 7th, 2025, and not sooner.
Schedule changes will only be made to those who want to change class levels, meaning out of an advanced or AP to on-level. We cannot make any other schedule changes or accept any other types of change requests. This process will require both Teacher and Parent signatures for approval.
11th/12th Grade ONLY: You may request Late Arrival or Early Release if you do not already have 2 on your schedule.
AP and advanced drops: AP and Advanced classes that have a lower level can be dropped to the lower level of that same class or a release/late arrival period. They cannot be changed to another course type. If you need to drop an AP or adv class that does not have a lower level, this will be the only time you can drop to an available semester elective. These courses do not have a lower level, therefore can ask for a drop to an available elective or release/late arrival if available to you: AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics 1, 2, C, AP Spanish 4 or 5, AP Euro, AP Music Theory, AP Calc BC, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Art courses. AP Computer Science, AP French 4, Spanish 3 Adv.
This is the last chance to drop a full year advanced or AP course. We do not have another drop window for full year advanced or ap courses. If you do not drop now, you will not be able to drop at the second semester 6 week mark. That is reserved for semester only advanced/AP classes.
If a change is needed and will impact graduation requirements a counselor will work with you on the next steps, but a form must be submitted no matter what.
If a student is requesting to drop an AP or Advanced course the following criteria must be met: students have completed all assigned work, students have attended tutorials when needed, students have retested when needed.
Changing your schedule now may impact your lunch, your teachers, and your current class schedule. Not all changes will work with all schedules and may not be possible. Previous versions of your schedule will not be granted after a change has been made. We cannot undo changes. We are unable to predict in advance what your schedule will look like with the change. Your grade from the first semester will show on your transcript. Please note that not all courses have an on-level or lower equivalent to change. If there is not an available option, the course will remain. Speak with a counselor if you have questions or concerns about classes that can impact graduation.
Your counselor will call you down or email your change to you once your form has been completed to change your schedule.

1 on 1 Course Verification Meetings
Career Plan will close on December 20th, 2024 and students will go on winter break. Over the break, the courses listed for next school year in Career Plan will roll over to become their course requests for the 2025-26 school year. Each student will receive a 1 on 1 meeting with their counselor beginning January 13th and ending February 3rd. Students will review their selections, ensure they are meeting graduation requirements, and have a chance to meet 1 on 1 with their counselor to make any changes and ask any questions needed.
Changing Class Schedules / Updating Courses:
After students complete their 1 on 1 meeting with their counselor, they will have a window of time from February 3-13th, to submit any changes after their meeting. All course requests will be finalized on February 13th, 2025. Please read the disclaimer below about course changes.
We cannot stress enough the importance of checking your course requests in HAC, verifying they are what you want to take, and if not, making the necessary updates.
Per the academic guide:
Students pre-enroll in the spring semester for the upcoming school year, and the master schedule will be based on that information. Students will be able to see and change their course requests pending availability through February 13th by submitted a form to the counselor during this window. After this date, no course changes (including all CTE classes, core classes, and level changes) are allowed. Exceptions that will be allowed are athletics, band, choir, orchestra, color guard, drill team, gifted and talented, debate, and Academic Decathlon. These must be requested by the 7th school day of the year. Advanced, AP®, and International Baccalaureate (IB) classes may only be dropped at the 6 week mark of a course or at the end of the semester, and course availability may impact options.

FISD Academic Guide / FISD Course Catalog
It is the time of year when students will plan out their courses for the next school year. While working out your student’s four-year plan, we’ve created this online book, bit.ly/RHSCTECOURSES, showing the various CTE pathways to help you better understand where a student’s interests can take them.
While looking over this binder, we want to help with some common questions that we are asked at this time of year:
Most freshman courses are offered on the student’s home campus (Reedy HS or Frisco HS). Only the courses that have @CTEC in the course title are the ones that are offered at the Frisco ISD CTE Center.
There are many benefits to signing up for CTE courses early:
Many courses offer industry-based certifications that reflect real-world expertise
Allow you to join and compete in Career & Technical Student Organizations, such as BPA, DECA, HOSA & FFA.
Opens the door for students to take four years of classes in their pathway of interest.
Helps students thoroughly prepare for higher education in their area of interest and be ahead of the curve compared to peers who haven’t focused on their courses in high school.
Enable students to be able to take many of the wonderful advanced CTE course options that are only available to students who have taken the course prerequisites.

How to get your Reedy High School Transcript
Transcripts must be ordered through Parchment at the link below.
https://www.parchment.com/u/registration/5829745/account
All students will receive an email with their access code. This is sent at the beginning of each year. Search your email for “Parchment” as you will have one that gives your access code. Do not create multiple accounts. If you can not find your access code please contact Shanna Stalder stalders@friscoisd.org
If you are needing help with the ordering process, please visit the Parchment Support page for the step-by-step instructions. Click the “home” tab at the top of the support page for several helpful click sheets. We have also linked click sheets below.
Do not submit Common App transcripts to Parchment. You will need to add your counselor as a recommender to Common app and she will upload the transcript there.
Once you have set up your account, you MUST add a personal email address to your account. This will ensure that you always have access to this account, even after graduation.
Our registrar is alerted through Parchment for every transcript ordered. The whole process can take from 3-5 days during high processing times. Please be sure to plan accordingly to be sure you take this delay into consideration for approaching deadlines.
Should any issues arise, please contact Shanna Stalder at stalders@friscoisd.org
If you need help with technical issues, you must contact Parchment Support directly, or visit the links below
Helpful Links and How to:
Update and Store a Self View Copy
How to order a transcript and HOLD FOR GRADES (done during the end of the grading periods)
Unofficial Transcripts:
You can view/print the self view transcript that is stored in your Parchment account. Be sure to update this periodically as the view you see is only from the last time YOU updated it, not necessarily the last time WE updated your transcript. Make sure to pay close attention
Your Reedy counselors will work to make the deadlines listed in Common App. The Common App does not notify us if you are trying to submit your application early. The date listed will be their first application deadline. If you are needing your Counseling rec letter and school profile, or transcript submitted before the deadline listed in Common app, you will need to notify your counselor in writing of your date. In addition, if you are needing a recommendation letter with your application, from your counselor, you must submit the Letter of Recommendation request and allow them at least 10 business days to process. The link can be found here for the letter of recommendation request.
