Queridos padres, 

Soy la Sra. Herrera y soy su maestra de primer grado. Soy originalmente de Venezuela, pero he vivido en Frisco durante los últimos 11 años. Vivo aquí con mi esposo y mis dos hijas maravillosas, Sofía y Verona. Sofía acaba de empezar su primer semestre en la universidad y Verona está en su último año de high school. También tengo cuatro perritos: Bruno, Emilia y sus dos cachorritas Leía y Lucy. ¡Son parte de mi familia!

Cuando no estoy trabajando, me gusta caminar con mis perros, cocinar, hacer yoga y pasar tiempo con mis amigos y mi familia.

Soy maestra bilingüe con más de cinco años de experiencia trabajando con estudiantes en escuelas públicas y privadas. Tengo una licenciatura en Educación Infantil de Dallas College, y también he estudiado periodismo. He enseñado desde preescolar hasta quinto grado, en inglés y español. Me encanta ayudar a mis estudiantes a crecer y a sentirse orgullosos de quiénes son y del idioma que hablan.

Estoy muy feliz de estar aquí y no puedo esperar para aprender y crecer con ustedes este año.

Dear Parents,

I am Mrs. Herrera, and I am your first-grade teacher. I am originally from Venezuela, but I have lived in Frisco for the past 11 years. I live here with my husband and our two wonderful daughters, Sofía and Verona. Sofía just started her first semester in college, and Verona is in her last year of high school. I also have four little dogs: Bruno, Emilia, and their two puppies Leía and Lucy. They are part of my family!

When I am not working, I enjoy walking with my dogs, cooking, doing yoga, and spending time with my friends and family.

I am a bilingual teacher with over five years of experience working with students in both public and private schools. I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education from Dallas College, and I have also studied journalism. I have taught from preschool through fifth grade, in both English and Spanish. I love helping my students grow and feel proud of who they are and the language they speak.

I am very happy to be here and can’t wait to learn and grow with you this year.
