Cluster 2: The Art of Information Writing this cluster, students will learn to:

• Write an informational text about a topic they are an expert on

• Teach others about their topic

• Use descriptive words to create images in the mind of the reader

• Use text features 

• Demonstrate use of spelling, grammar, and writing conventions

Ways to Support at Home

• Encourage frequent real-world, pencil-paper writing opportunities

• Practice keyboarding skills on a keyboard, not a touch screen

• Invite your child to talk about their topic
