Cluster 1: Matter, Energy, Force, and Motion

In this cluster, students will learn to:

• Describe and classify solids, liquids, and gases

• Measure, test, and record properties of matter

• Demonstrate and describe forces that are acting on an object

• Plan and conduct an investigation using push and pull forces

• Identify examples of thermal, light, sound, and mechanical energies

• Investigate how the speed of an object relates to its mechanical energy
