A. Building A Rationale
Problem-solving requires thought. If we are going to solve problems Biblically, we have to think Biblically. It is Biblical because we look into the Scriptures to see what God has said about problems and draw from the Word of God the principles related to this subject.
The Bible teaches us that Christians are to walk by means of doctrine, which directly affects how we approach problems. Doctrine is to characterize our lives. As we face our problems, we must bring God into the picture. We should never look at our problems apart from the Person of God, the Plan of God, or the Promises of God. In practical terms, we look into the Word of God to see how the person of God relates to the problems we face. To do this, we must:
Definition (What does this attribute mean?)
Documentation (Where is it found in Scripture?)
Demonstration (How is it applied?)
Deduction (Conclusion: This attribute forces us to conclude, what?)
The kind of God you have will profoundly affect you as you seek to solve problems.
B. What is a Rationale?
A rationale is a reasoned exposition of doctrinal principles or a series of biblical principles that you consciously take into your mind and think about. The rationale activates the divine viewpoint, which is faith in action. There are many rationales in Scripture: The Plan of God Rationale, the Essence of God rationale, the Peace of God rationale, the Provisions of God rationale, etc. Again, what is it? It is a reasoned (based on biblical facts, not subjective feelings, notions, or some vague impressions, and biblical facts that are organized and arranged) exposition (examination and investigation) of the Scripture.
