God's Plan is Certain

GOD'S PLAN IS CERTAIN

1.  Definition

We declare that God has a plan. Yet a question emerges which asks, "Can He deliver the goods?" Can God keep His plan? The certainty of God's plan rests on the attributes of omnipotence and sovereignty. God is sovereign. His will is supreme, and no greater authority or power exists in the universe.

2.  Documentation

Deuteronomy 4:39

Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the Lord, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.

Proverbs 19:21

Many are the plans in a man's heart, But the counsel of the Lord, it will stand.

Isaiah 14:27

For the Lord of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for His stretched-out hand, who can turn it back?

Isaiah 46:11

Calling a bird of prey from the east, The man of My purpose from a far country Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, surely I will do it.

Psalm 148:36

He has also established them forever and ever; He has made a decree which will not pass away (be revoked).

3.  Meditation:  God is the Person in charge.

God is sovereign; therefore, no one or nothing can frustrate His plan. God does what He wants when and how it pleases Him. The ultimate victory is the Lord's.

Whether you fail or succeed, God's plan will be completed in your life. It will go through you or over you, but it will never be derailed. It will keep on marching whether you march or not.

God sovereignly authored a plan. He decreed a plan which embraces all things and renders all things certain. He willed the end as well as the means, the causes, the effects, the conditions, and the events that depend on them.

   Job testified:

Job 42:2

I know that You can do all things and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.

Can God give orders, issue a command, ordain an event, enact a law, decree a decree?  He has absolute authority and power. There is no higher authority than our God's, and no creature in this universe has one ounce of power save what God has delegated to him.

Matthew 28:18

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Jesus controls history. More importantly, He controls my history.

4.  The Drill: Discipline yourself to Godliness

Trouble has a way of unsettling us. Life, at times, looks out of control. Sometimes, I find myself confused and perplexed. If so, take these actions:

1st: By Claiming the promises

I turn to God. I bring Him into the picture by claiming the promise in Romans 8:28. From that promise, I recognize that God is at work. God has a plan, and all this confusion in my life and circumstances relates to that plan.

2nd: By Concentrating on the rationale

It is comforting to know that God is in control in uncertain times.

How often my plans fail, but knowing that God's plan cannot be thwarted is wonderful. It is the only foolproof plan ever created. His security is eternal.

What can I be sure of:

When I am facing difficulties, He is with me.

When I have a need, He is providing.

Your turn? What can you be sure of?
